Here are some questions we’re often asked.

Still unsure?

Why should I choose Beaumont Legal to help me with my legal case?
You will be working with a solicitor who has many years of experience dealing with cases like yours. They can help you avoid the pitfalls surrounding any court case, and achieve for you the best result that is possible. We always aim to produce a fast, friendly and above all else professional service
What are the chances of me winning a legal challenge?
The best way to find this out is to speak to us directly. We’ll always try to let you know as soon as possible if we think you’ll win or lose and in many cases we can give you our clear opinion from the initial telephone call or first meeting. Sometimes we may need to ask to see documents, talk to other people involved in the case or obtain an expert’s opinion, such as a doctor, which can make this take longer, but we’ll let you know what we think as soon as possible.
How much will it cost me to claim and how will I pay?
The costs of court claims depends very much on the type of case and on every matter we’ll consider with you what is the best way to pay. It could be under a no win, no fee agreement, a fixed fee for the time spent on the case or through an existing insurance policy you may have. We’ll always give you clear advice as to the full costs of the case at the start and as it proceeds.
Are there any time limits on when I need to bring my claim?
There are many different time limits on legal cases and the best thing to do is to call us to seek advice as soon as you think you may have a claim. Don’t miss any important time limits. Some of the more common limits are – you have 3 months from when you’re dismissed to bring a claim before an employment tribunal, 6 months from when probate is granted to make a claim on the estate of someone who has died, 3 years to bring a claim for personal injury or clinical negligence compensation, starting from the date of the injury or when you learnt about the negligence (which could be many years later). 6 years to bring a claim for professional negligence starting from the date of the negligence or 3 years from when you found out about the negligence. 6 years from the breach of a contract for commercial disputes.
Will I need to appear in court?
It’s very unlikely. The vast majority of our cases are settled out of court or with no need for individuals to give evidence in court and this is what we always work towards. We’ll be supporting you throughout the process and if for some reason you did have to appear in court we would guide you every step of the way to put you at ease.
What types of cases does Beaumont Legal specialise in?
We cover a large range of commercial and private litigation cases. These include claims for personal injury, will disputes, clinical negligence, professional negligence, building disputes, inheritance claims, shareholder disputes, lease breaks, partnership  disputes, lease renewals, surveyor negligence, solicitor negligence, contract disputes, mortgage mis-selling among many many
other cases. If you’d like to talk to us about our experience in similar cases to yours call us on 0345 122 8100 or request that we call you back.
What experience do you have with clinical negligence claims?
We have dealt with claims for clinical negligence for many years. This has included a range of cases from the most straightforward to the most catastrophic. We have handled cases including negligently performed surgery, poor advice, misread scans, missed diagnosis, fatal medical accidents and negligently handled births and poorly fitted contraception devices among many other cases.
What experience do you have with personal injury claims?

Our solicitors have a wealth of experience dealing with a wide range of personal injury claims. These include injuries people have sustained at work and on the road, as well as at home, in public places and while on holiday. They include smaller injuries through to slips and trips through to those which have caused major injury, long term health effects and even death.

Who will handle my case?
After speaking to you and understanding your case we’ll assign you with an experienced solicitor supported by litigation assistants. You’ll speak to the solicitor responsible for your case throughout.
How can I contact the person responsible for my case?
We’ll give you their e-mail address and direct phone line so you don’t have to go through a switchboard. If for some reason you can’t get hold of them, you can always request a callback here.
Do you offer a 'no win, no fee' service?
Yes but we will always discuss with you whether it is the best option for your case because, due to Government changes in 2013, other options may be better for you.
What if I lose?
We will always advise you at the start if you will have anything to pay to us or your opponent if you lose your case.
What information will you need from me?
Normally we will need to take a statement from you at the start of the case and see all documentation relevant to your claim. As the case moves forward we will probably need more information as your opponent raises points. We’ll ask you to be open and honest and know that our team is always on your side.
Will I need to come to your offices to see you?
For many cases it isn’t necessary as we can deal with your claim by post, e-mail and telephone. We do still meet with the majority of our clients and can always arrange a meeting if it is easier for you.
How will I be kept up to date with my case?
We will explain the time scale for dealing with the case at the start and will update you regularly in writing as it proceeds. You can also phone or E-mail your solicitor directly for progress reports at any point.
