The costs of court claims depends very much on the type of case and on every matter we will consider with you what is the best way to pay. It could be under a no win, no fee agreement, a fixed fee for the time spent on the case or through an existing insurance policy you may have. There are many different time limits on legal cases and the best thing to do is to call us to seek advice as soon as you think you many have a 

claim so you don’t miss any important time limits. Some of the more  common limits are:

  • 3 months from when you are dismissed to bring a claim before an employment tribunal
  • 6 months from when probate is granted to make a claim on the estate of someone who has died
  • 3 years to bring a claim for personal injury or clinical negligence compensation, starting from the date of the injury or when you learnt about the negligence (which could be many years later)
  • 6 years to bring a claim for professional negligence starting from the date of the negligence or 3 years from when you found out about the negligence
  • 6 years from the breach of a contract for commercial disputes.

Yes but we will always discuss with you whether it is the best option for your case because, due to Government changes in 2013, other options may be better for you.

We will always advise you at the start if you will have anything to pay to us or your opponent if you lose your case.

Normally we will need to take a statement from you at the start of the case and see all documentation relevant to your claim. As the case moves forward we will probably need more information as your opponent raises points. We’ll ask you to be open and honest and know that our team is always on your side.

For many cases it isn’t necessary as we can deal with your claim by post, e-mail and telephone. We do still meet with the majority of our clients and can always arrange a meeting if it is easier for you.
