Wakefield locals should have their rainbow flags at the ready, because this Sunday 12 August is Wakefield Pride.

Beaumont Legal is a proud sponsor of this year’s event. Named “Longboat Pride 2018”, it is designed to engage the LGBT+ community in Wakefield.

Live music will be the focus of the jam-packed day. Headlining acts such as singer Ruby Macintosh and drag king Gentlemen Jack will take to the stage.

“At Beaumont Legal, we think it’s important to be proud of who you are and to celebrate this,” says our marketing manager Leah Rothwell. “We adapted our branding this year to fit in with the LGBT+ colours to show our continued support of such a fantastic event. We completely support Longboat Pride and all that it represents.”

Beaumont Legal remortgaging expert Scott Kelly has spent the past year organising our sponsorship of the festival. He says the legal profession is one of the most diverse business landscapes.

“We are extremely proud to be part of the message to the world that, whatever your sexual orientation, our profession is open and welcomes you,” he says.

Kelly is a proud supporter of Pride. “Pride means accepting who you are and being proud of all you stand for,” he says.

“Regardless of what you believe or think, nobody should be able to make you feel ashamed of who you are or what you stand for. To me, Pride events say to the world ‘this is who we are and we’re proud of it.’”
